Radio Show Proposal
Lilies is an online radio station and record label aimed at connecting communities and reflecting our lived experiences through music and conversation.
The core of our work seeks to amplify the voices and sounds that emerge from marginalised folk in South Africa and beyond, and to be a space for meaningful solidarities, friendships, and other connections to form.
Since 2018, our radio station has broadcasted over 200 shows from a growing group of residents and guests. And our current programme ranges from specialised music shows and freeform DJ sets; to conversations and social commentaries that form a unique, thought-provoking, and enjoyable listening experience.
We are home to a diverse group of people - each bringing progressive ideas and musical tastes to our space. We are an open community for music collectors, writers, social workers, researchers, and even those who are still just ‘figuring it out’.
This has become our place for necessary conversation; free musical exploration; and, most importantly, a place for us to connect and grow – together.
